Facility

Green Valley Recycling is a full service, recycling facility located on 15 acres in London, Ontario, operating since June 2006.

We offer separate dumping areas for both large and small vehicles, for the individual customer and our large corporate clients.

We are very proud of our state-of-the art recycling equipment and facility. Many additions, enhancements and improvements have recently been made to the Green Valley Recycling site:

  1. Concrete Tipping Pad
This was the first major improvement to the Green Valley site. The large concrete pad allows larger trucks to tip on a clean, flat surface reducing the risk of tire punctures commonly encountered at similar sites.

  2. Excavator Loading Ramp
The loading ramp, built along the main tipping ramp, provides a platform from which trucks can be quickly and safely loaded from a raised vantage point.

  3. Recycle Centre
The recycle centre was built in order to provide a separate area, for customers with smaller vehicles, to drop off their material. This area is kept free of larger vehicles and heavy equipment, and permits customers to unload materials at their own pace. The centre consists of concrete block enclosures that are provided for self separation of recyclable materials. An additional enclosure is also provided for unsorted materials.

Note: Self sorting of materials is encouraged but not expected, however price breaks on tipping fees will be offered to reflect these efforts.

  4. Shingle Tipping Ramp
In an attempt to streamline the process of dumping roofing materials, a paved shingle ramp was created. The ramp provides a raised platform from which shingles can be dumped easily from a tip trailer or bin truck. The ramp is swept regularly and cleared of nails with frequent magnet sweeps.

  5. Netting to South and East Facing Walls
To restrict the flow of airborne debris escaping from the Green Valley lot, a 40´ high net was placed along the south and east sides of the concrete tipping pad. This netting is designed to catch lighter materials while being loaded or disturbed by heavy winds. The enclosure consists of all repurposed materials acquired through Green Valley and its partners.

  6. Tree Based Debris Barriers
To improve containment of debris at the Green Valley site, a vigorous tree planting campaign has been employed. The trees planted are specifically chosen for their ability to catch airborne debris providing an esthetically pleasing alternative to traditional barriers. The resulting tree line is regularly canvassed with the surrounding area as part of our commitment to keep the neighborhood clean and free of drifting debris.
